That Samsung is now a real reference in the Android world as regards the theme of updates it is a fact – just look at the timeliness of the September patch release – but what is striking is also the attention paid by the Seoul home towards the older terminals including those who have lost official support for several years now.
In August we saw Samsung even intervene on the Galaxy S7, going to release one major fix for GPS connectivity certainly very welcome by the owners of the former top of the range, but certainly not due based on the update policies that characterize both the Android world in general and Samsung’s own rules.
In light of this, it doesn’t surprise us too much to discover that too Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are currently receiving a new update – currently spotted in Belgium and Holland – which goes to correct the same GPS problem already mentioned above. Obviously, even in this case, the update does not bring with it new security patches or a more recent Android version, but it is simply a corrective update dedicated to this particular problem.
The builds of the two firmware are respectively G920FXXU6EVG1 And G925FXXU6EVG3 – have a weight of approx 13 MB – for Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge and it is likely that the update will be released soon also in our market.
