After witnessing the European debut of the Xiaomi 13 family (here you find our preview of the 13 Pro), it’s now time to move your gaze towards the next products to be released, such as the new generation of smart bands being processed at the Chinese house.
In the course of the last few hours, in fact, the first real photos of Xiaomi Smart Band 8thanks to the passage of the device to the South Korean certification body NRRA Korea. Unfortunately, the certification does not bring with it details regarding the hardware specifications, however it reveals a very important change in the design of the accessory, which for the first time abandons the classic silicone bracelet which characterized all the basic iterations of Xiaomi’s Smart Band. As can be seen from the shots, the central body of the Smart Band 8 does not differ much from its predecessorsadopting a pill design that is in perfect continuity with the past, while the strap is now composed of two detachable elements that attach individually to the Band 8.
This solution will certainly offer a more solid connection between these elements, reducing the risk of losing the Smart Band which was now recurrent in almost all previous models. We need to understand what impact this change will have on the pricesince the classic silicone band certainly has a lower production cost, while the solution shown in the images is more advanced and refined, in line with what has already been shown with the Xiaomi Smart Band 7 Pro. But for more precise information on the price we will have to wait for the launch event, which could be imminent.
