“ Who watched my stories? » This is the question most people ask on Instagram . And the application allows them to access the statistics of their ephemeral photos or videos with the names, or rather nicknames, of the people who watched, but also those who reacted.
It should be remembered that a Story is a photo or video that will only be available for 24 hours on the person’s profile. After this period, it will no longer be accessible, and replaced by a new one. A function directly inspired by what SnapChat offered . In a story, images are displayed for 5 seconds and videos for 15 seconds. Soon Instagram will offer to increase the duration at 60 seconds.
One of the constraints linked to Stories is that it is not possible, in theory, to access the content anonymously. Once you click on a profile to access the content, the viewing is recorded by the application. Still, there are ways to watch Stories anonymously. This anonymity may be of interest to people who want to find out about a person in a secret way, or a company which wants, anonymously, to see the communication of a competing brand.
Actually, there are five solutions, and here they are.
The anonymous method
The simplest method is simply to create a second Instagram account , which you use as a secret account. No one will be able to identify you, and you will be able to read Stories without being detected. The problem is that for private accounts, you will have to show your credentials, and it will of course be more complicated.
The “airplane” method
As in WhatsApp ,Instagram preloads multimedia content as soon as you log in to the application. The goal: to speed up the display of images, videos and therefore Stories. Once you have launched Instagram, wait a minute. Next, switch your smartphone to airplane mode. You are then disconnected from the Internet and the mobile network, and you can consult the preloaded Stories without being identifiable.
The manual method
This first tip requires a little tact, literally and figuratively. In fact, it involves scrolling through the Stories, then going back to the Story that interests us. This tip is only valid for photos, and it will only display the first image posted if it is a list.
The first step is to locate the profile that interests you in the list of Stories, and click on the profile that follows it. The first story appears, and you then have to tap the screen to pause it. And there, you have to drag the image to the right, which allows, with 3D animation, to see the previous image, and therefore the previous Story. You have to keep your finger pressed, because if you release, the Story really appears, and the person will know that you have seen it.
The browser method
You can read Stories without them being counted, and you can use a website to do this. It’s storiesig.net . In the search box, enter the nickname name. In our example, the footballer Aurélien Tchouaméni. After a few seconds, and viewing an ad, the site displays the current Stories, if the person has posted any in the last 24 hours. We can therefore view them, and even better, we can even download them.
The method with application
Whether on iPhone or Android, there is an application to access a user’s Stories anonymously.
For an iPhone, you need to download Story Reposter . You must register with your Instagram account, then use the search tool to access the desired profile. We then access the Stories in the form of a list.
For an Android device, same principle with Story Saver . You can search by trend, hashtag and of course nicknames.
