VIVO X100: a beast with MediaTek 9300

Let’s start talking about the Vivo X100, which isIt is the most modest model in terms of camera. In design, both are extremely similar. The design of the rear is identical, with that large circular module for the camera, but the detail of the frame of said module changes.

On the front, both have a 6.78-inch curved finish screen, OLED panel and 1.5K resolution of 2,800 x 1,260 pixels. The density is 452 pixels per inch, it has a 120 Hz refresh rate, a PWM of 2,160 Hz and a peak brightness of 3,000 nits, placing it in the TOP brightness of this year.

And inside, both models have the recently presented MediaTek 9300. It is a very interesting SoC due to its configuration with four latest-generation Cortex-X4 cores and a GPU compatible with real-time ray tracing.

It is accompanied by 12 or 16 GB of memory plus UFS 4.0 storage, but while the 12 GB RAM is LPDDR5X, that of the 16 GB model is SK Hynx LPDDR5T, with greater bandwidth and speed. The battery in the X100 model is 5,000 mAh with 120 W charging.

And what about the cameras? The configuration is similar between both devices, but the main sensor changes. In the Vivo X100, we have a 50-megapixel Sony IMX920 main sensor with optical stabilization and f/1.57 aperture. It is accompanied by a 50 megapixel wide angle (the JN1) and a 64 megapixel Omnivision OV64B for the 3x telephoto. On the front, we have a 32 megapixel sensor.

The optics of the main camera have Zeiss coating, a new generation of T* that improves contrast and reduces reflections. As for the software, the Zeiss natural color mode that we already saw in the X80 Pro.

VIVO X100 Pro: enhancing photography with the main camera

As we say, the Vivo X100 Pro is very similar to its younger brother, with the main new features being in one 5,400 mAh battery with 100W and 50W wireless charging and in the photographic section

From the V2 chip of the X100, we move to a new V3 chip as ISP and support for the cameras. It is the one in charge of processing, for example, with a new 4K cinematographic mode that will allow us to select the focus point afterwards. Surely the dTOF sensor helps here.

If we go to the camera hardware, both the angle and telephoto lenses are the same, although the focal length changes to 4.3x in the telephoto lens. What stands out is the main one, since it also has 50 megapixels, but this time it is a one-inch Sony IMX989 sensor and, in addition, the new generation of Zeiss T lenses*.

Versions, price and launch of the Vivo X100 and Vivo X100 Pro

Given the characteristics of the new Vivo X100, we must say that they have just been presented in China and we have no confirmation of a global launch of the two models. We have to wait to see which one reaches the West, since from Vivo X90 The most advanced model did not arrive.
