The Pixels are updated: September patch and beyond. The 6a is missing from the appeal

The September patches have arrived on the Pixels: it is the first update after Google smartphones received Android 13 in the middle of last month. The Mountain View company fixed 15 security issues in the September 1 patch and 36 in the September 5 patch. The rollout is ongoing and will continue until next week. As always, you will receive a notification when the update is available, alternatively you can check its presence manually by accessing the menu Settings of your Pixel smartphone.

THE SMARTPHONES AFFECTED

The update is available for all Pixels from 4 onwards, except for Pixel 6a which will receive the update by the end of the month.

CHANGELOG

There are not only security patches, but also performance improvements and bug fixes. This seems to include the one that prevented some Pixels from charging wirelessly.

  • fixed an issue that prevented wireless charging mode from being activated under certain conditions (only for 4, 4XL, 5, 6, 6 Pro)

  • further improvements for fingerprint recognition and response under certain conditions (only for 6a)
• Bluetooth
  • Fixed an issue that occasionally prevented certain Bluetooth devices or accessories from connecting
• User interface
  • Fixed an issue that occasionally caused notifications to appear incomplete on the lock screen
