Gardai launch witness appeal after petrol bomb attack on south Dublin pub

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to a petrol bomb attack on the interior of a pub in south Dublin.

The incident occurred shortly after midnight on Saturday morning in the Loughlinstown area.

The interior of the pub was damaged by the petrol bomb which was thrown while punters were enjoying a night out.

 

No arrests have been made and it is understood that the suspected offender fled the scene immediately after the incident.

A garda spokeswoman said: “Shortly after midnight on Saturday, a petrol bomb was thrown inside the premises causing damage to the interior of the property. The suspected offender immediately fled the scene.

“No arrests have been made at this time and investigations are continuing.

“Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact them.”

Any person who was on Loughlinstown Drive and surrounding areas between 11.30pm on Friday night and 12.30am on Saturday morning and who noticed any unusual activity is asked to contact Gardaí.

Similarly, any road users who were in the area at this time and who may have camera (including dash cam) footage, is asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.
