The high-end smartphone market has grown substantially, despite the inflationary crisis in several countries. According to figures from Canalys, this segment is highly profitable for manufacturers, since the price above US$ 500 offers a higher profit margin.
In its report on the best-selling flagship smartphones of the first quarter of 2023, Canalys brings a series of iPhones to the top. The leader of the ranking is the iPhone 14 Pro Max and it is followed by the iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 and iPhone 13.

A curious detail of the data released by Canalys is that after the Galaxy S23 Ultra there is a certain alternation between iPhones and Samsung smartphones, such as the Galaxy S23, S23 Plus, Z Flip 4 and others.
The Z Flip 4 is the first foldable on the list.
The only Androids that do not belong to the Samsung ecosystem are the Xiaomi 13 and Huawei Mate 50, which are in the 13th and 14th positions, respectively.
Canalys also highlights in its numbers the constant growth of the flagship segment. In 2019, about 22% of sales went to devices priced above $500.
Today, that number has grown to 31% and is still looking to improve. That is, good news for Samsung, since the Korean is the only Android manufacturer that has managed to “surf” this new wave.
