iOS 16.2, Emergency SOS

Apple today launched the first beta of iOS 16.2 to developers, and it comes with some new features.

Apple has added a new option that allows users to inform the company when the emergency SOS is triggered unintentionally.

The iOS 16.2 beta now asks users to report when they cancel emergency SOS mode. The system displays a notification that opens the Feedback Wizard for send Apple data about what happened at that time.

“Have you intentionally activated the emergency SOS on your iPhone? ”states the message.

The Emergency SOS feature is a feature introduced years ago in iOS that allows users to quickly call emergency services just by holding down the buttons on the iPhone for a few seconds.

With iPhone 14, Emergency SOS has been integrated with Accident Detection, which uses iPhone sensors to identify traffic accidents and automatically call emergency services.

It is good news that Apple is interested in receiving feedback on the feature to improve it and avoid false positives.
