“Complete” day as regards the rumors about the next generation of leaflets that Samsung will announce on July 26th. In addition to the first press render of the Galaxy Z Fold 5, in fact, a first unofficial image of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 was also released, probably the more interesting of the two in terms of novelty compared to the models currently on sale.
FIRST OFFICIAL PRESS RENDER
This unofficial press render (obviously we cannot define it as official yet) confirms what has been said and seen up to now regarding the new, small leaflet of the Korean company. The greatest attention is certainly focused on thelarge external display that has a “folder”-like design and goes to occupy almost the entire front.
According to rumors, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is expected to have a 3.4-inch AMOLED external display with HD resolution, similar in size to that of the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra but wider than that found in the OPPO Find N2 Flip, which has a 3.26-inch panel.

However, unlike the Motorola foldable, equipped with an external 3.6″ pOLED display which also integrates the two cameras, as is usually the case for the front displays of many smartphones, Samsung has instead thought of this sort of “extension” on the lower part which will occupy part of the space left next to the two cameras.
LARGE ‘FOLDER’ DESIGN EXTERNAL DISPLAY
Obviously, for this “unusual” display, Samsung will certainly have thought about some software trick to make the most of it. In recent days, rumors have been circulating about a possible direct involvement of Google to create specific versions of the apps most used by users – Maps, Messages and YouTube in the first place – which should have an interface optimized to exploit every millimeter of the external display, thus avoiding the user of having to open the smartphone to access other functions.

The press render also shows two other possible scenarios for using the external display, used both as a viewfinder when taking a selfie using the external cameras, and to control music playback

To complete the hardware specifications of the Galaxy Z Flip 5, there would be an internal 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with refresh rate up to 120Hz, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor supported by 8/128GB and 8/256GB of RAM and storage, 3,700mAh battery with 25W fast charge and 12 megapixel main camera flanked by a 12 megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. The internal camera, however, should always be 12 megapixels.

As on the Galaxy Z Fold 5, even on the small Galaxy Z Flip 5, Samsung would have used a new “teardrop” hinge that should allow the flexible panel to curve more gently into it allowing it to be a tighter closure of the two parts, and to have a much less evident crease when the device is open. Furthermore, a perfect adherence of the two parts will also prevent the entry of sand, dust and other small solid bodies when we keep the device in a pocket, also increasing the IP classification.
