A few hours after the rumors that further confirmed all the hardware specifications, a first unofficial press render of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 has also arrived, the fifth generation of the folding smartphone that Samsung will announce together with the Galaxy Z Flip 5, on July 26th , during an Unpacked event.

DESIGN ALSO CONFIRMED

The image, which will be used by Samsung to advertise the smartphone, shows the Galaxy Z Fold 5 both open and closed. The shell is of a light blue color tending towards purple, very beautiful. Next to the smartphone is the S-Pen which, as in previous generations, it will not have its own slot and will be sold separatelyprobably in combination with a cover.

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 unfolded doesn’t seem to differ much from the current version. According to rumors, this new generation will be decidedly similar to the current one, even if improved in several respects. First of all, the hinge, a fundamental element in this type of device.

Samsung, in fact, would have completely redesigned the hinge that its on the Galaxy Z Fold 5, which on the Z Flip 5, should be of the “teardrop” type, similar to the one also seen on foldables from other manufacturers. This solution, compared to the current one, will allow the flexible panel to curve more gently inside, while at the same time allowing a more adherent closure of the two parts.

COMPLETE CLOSURE, WITHOUT SPACE

The complete closure is also evident from the second Galaxy Z Fold 5 present in the press render, the one in the background (which we have extracted in a new image), which seems have the two parts that match perfectly, without any passage of light. The adoption of this hinge, as mentioned, should prevent both the entry of sand, dust and other small solid bodies when we keep it in a pocket, also increasing the IP classification, and to have a much less evident crease when the device is open.

Otherwise, the USB Type-C port, speaker grilles and microphone arrangements are similar to what we have on the Galaxy Z Fold 4. The rear camera is also very similar except for the LED flash which is now positioned to the side. The press render does not show the front which should however remain completely unchanged.

WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT HARDWARE

On the hardware side, as already seen, there shouldn’t be big news. Except for the processor Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Samsung (slightly overclocked), in fact, everything else would be very similar to what is already present in the Fold 4. The internal display it will be a 7.6 inchthe front one a 6.2-inch HD+ resolution. In support of the Qualcomm processor, there will be 12GB of RAM and storage from 256GB to 1TB. The battery will be a 4,400 mAh one with support for 25W fast charging
