New rumors have emerged about the specifications of Vivo X Fold 2, the Chinese giant’s second-generation top-of-the-range foldable smartphone. In fact we are already almost in the air of a refresh, given that the presentation of the first generation took place in April 2022.
The main innovations concern the battery: we are talking about one 4,800mAh, about 200 and 70 mAh more than X Fold and X Fold Plus respectively. It will also increase the charging speedwhich will go from 66 and 80W to well 120W. It is curious that just this morning we also reported rumors about the ability of Google Pixel Fold, or Notepad or whatever it will be called. Also in this case we are talking about a battery very close to 5,000 mAh.
In any case, the source, the well-known Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station, also says that the X Fold 2 will be the world’s first foldable based on Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip. Unfortunately nothing else is added, but the same author had always spoken in the past of an internal screen with 2K resolution, two ultrasonic fingerprint scanners (one per display) and a camera based on a Sony IMX866 sensor.
These are all typical features of the Plus model, released around autumn 2022 (opening photo); it remains to be seen whether Vivo will adopt the two-model strategy again this year, and above all if it will continue to sell it only at home.
