A few weeks ago, reports suggested that vivo was getting ready to launch the flagship X80 Pro Plus in September. The month is already coming to an end and the manufacturer has not given any indications that it would present the cell phone.

To the surprise of many, vivo confirmed that it canceled the launch of the device to focus on the X90 flagship line, which should arrive at the end of the year.

After the Vivo X Fold Plus launch event, GSMArena approached a company representative to inquire about the launch of the X80 Pro Plus. He confirmed the cancellation of the device, but did not explain the reasons for this.

Previously, insider Ice Universe brought some details about the vivo X90 Pro Plus and confirmed that it will arrive in December.

It will feature a one-inch main sensor and a new telephoto, in addition to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 platform with LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.0 storage and a Samsung E6 AMOLED display.

The vivo X80 Pro Plus would come with the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 and camera advancements, replacing the 12-megapixel camera with 2x zoom and the 8-megapixel camera with 5x zoom for a duo of 50-megapixel sensors.

It would be a considerable advance considering the launch for this month, but its cancellation makes sense to focus on the X90 line.

It could use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 platform, which will be announced in November, in addition to bringing new standards for RAM and storage with lower energy consumption, in addition to new camera sensors.

It is worth remembering that the vivo X70 line was revealed in September 2021, while the X80 family arrived in April 2022.
