Update (28/09/22) – JB

It took a while, but finally the API that identifies missed calls while in “Do Not Disturb” mode. The novelty was already in iOS testing for some time and it was only in version 2.22.21.10 that it was found in the green robot system.

According to the folks at WABetaInfo, the tag that shows that a call has been muted during “Do Not Disturb” is a good option so that the user doesn’t get lost after encountering a good amount of unanswered calls.

Generally speaking, the feature is informational only and this status will not be shared with the caller.

For now, the novelty is in testing with a limited number of users within the beta channel. So don’t be surprised if the news takes a while to reach your Android smartphone.

WhatsApp for iOS will identify missed calls in “Do Not Disturb” mode

WhatsApp is working on a new feature for its users on iPhones. The messenger prepares an iOS API to detect when a call has been missed, because of the “Do Not Disturb” mode.

The information comes from WABetaInfo. According to the post, the messaging app has been testing the system API, which explains the presence of the missed call by the fact that Apple’s system functionality is enabled.

The Cupertino giant’s software tool has received more features with Focus mode in iOS 15 and can now prevent incoming calls and notifications, as you see in the screenshot above.

The flag that it has been “Muted by Do Not Disturb” will only appear to the recipient. This means that the person who made the call will not know that the call was lost because of the iOS feature.

For now, testing is only conducted by the beta application, accessible through TestFlight. The trend is that the function will be definitively released to all users with iOS 15 installed.
