OPPO has officially launched the IF Photography Awards 2023, a mobile photography contest designed to push the boundaries of mobile creativity to new limits, and following what Apple has also done in the past with campaigns Shot on iPhone.
The contest has eight different categories to enter, including The Distant View, Portrait, Night Scenery, Colors, Landscape, The Taste of Memories, Light & Shadow, and Chapters of a Lifecreated with the aim of inspiring the creativity of users from all over the world who own an Oppo smartphone, perhaps like the excellent Find X6 Pro, awarded by DxoMark for its video/photographic skills.
The company has gone to great lengths to assemble a prestigious judging panel of world-renowned photographers who bring diverse perspectives and extensive experience to the competition. Here is the list of jurors, as per Oppo’s press release.
Among the illustrious judges are Alec Soth, one of the most famous contemporary photographic artists and member of Magnum Photos, Pete Lau, Senior Vice President and Chief Product Officer of Oppo, to add his valuable contribution, Tang Hui, one of the best photographers Chinese portrait artists and Hasselblad Masters. Tina Signesdottir Hult, an internationally renowned fine art photographer and Hasselblad Master, will also be part of the judging panel with her attention to detail along with Wang Jianjun, a prominent landscape photographer and member of the Chinese Photographers Association. Finally, Yin Chao, a leading Chinese fashion photographer and Hasselblad ambassador, will also contribute to the selection process thanks to his experience.
But everyone will want to know what the prizes are and how to participate. Let’s proceed in juicier order. The Oppo Imagine IF Master of the Year (Golden Award) provides a prize of 160,000 CNY, which is equivalent to almost 21,000 euros participation in the Hasselblad Image Training Camp and the opportunity to participate in international photography exhibitions.
As for second and third places, they are even expected four silver prizes worth 60,000 CNY (7,900 euros)And 10 bronze prizes worth 20,000 CNY (2,600 euros) as well as training and visibility opportunities. In addition, there are four honorable mentions in each of eight categories, as well as awards at the Partner Channel Awards and Monthly Activity Awards to accommodate other inspiring submissions as well.
