NVIDIA confirms improvements to GeForce Now and service may gain app on Steam Deck

NVIDIA launched new features for the GeForce Now platform at CES 2023, implementing support for ultrawide monitors and other new features for the streaming service. According to information, the company intends to announce improvements in the functioning of the application in the Steam Deck portable video game, from Valve.

As explained by Andrew Fear, product manager at NVIDIA, the developer is committed to improving the user experience on the console in the future, but without confirming what is to come. In an interview with the Cloudy Games portal, GeForce Now is expected to introduce support for controller inputs.

“There isn’t a native app on the Steam deck today; use a Chromium-based browser to use it,” says Fear. “I would say both Nvidia and Valve, I think we’re both interested in making [GeForce Now no Steam Deck] best. But we don’t have any announcements about a native app coming to Steam.”

The executive advises portable users to use the browser version while the native application is not officially released for the device. This is one of the main negative points of the video game, which in this regard lags behind rivals like Razer’s Edge and Logitech’s G Cloud.
