Nothing Phone (2) will be announced in the summer: here is a first detail of the design

The Nothing Phone (2) will be announced in the summer. The official confirmation from Carl Pei’s company has just arrived via its social channels. There is no precise date, we will certainly know it in the coming weeks, for now there is a first image in which a detail of the new smartphone is visible and an adjective with which Nothing has defined it, “Premium”. Furthermore, Nothing has confirmed that this device will also be available for the first time in the United States.

Nothing Phone (1) was announced in July of last year, in the summer. It is probable that the month will also be the same for the second generation. As per tradition Nothing, or rather Pei given that OnePlus did the same too, in the course of these months that separate us from the announcement, some features and aesthetic details will be revealed a little at a time, to generate hype.

Of the Nothing Phone (2) so far very little is known. As confirmed in recent weeks by Carl Pei himself, we know that this smartphone will integrate a Qualcomm processor, probably the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and not the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. This hypothesis is based on what was written in a post published on Linkedin (later edited) by Alex Katouzian of Qualcomm. We also know that a first certification may already have arrived in India.

This is all one could say even if, also given the word “Premium” that Nothing used, one could expect at least 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, a 5000mAh battery and an AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Probable that even for this second generation, Nothing can keep the customizable LEDs that light up when you receive a notification or a call quite unchanged.

From the only published image you don’t understand much of the design but they are noticeable some interesting details: a kind of “switch” inserted in a circular element (quickly disable ringtones like on OnePlus and iPhone?), a hemisphere with a red LEDanother rectangular insert it’s a surface with a raised dot texture. It’s now up to imagine which part of the device has been highlighted.
