Windows 11 will add new options for users to edit and manage their photos.

A new dynamic that will be implemented through the Photos app, and that will arrive in a future update. We tell you what the new tools are about.

Options to edit photos from Windows 11

Through the Photos app, Windows 11 users can perform a number of options on their photos, beyond using it as a viewer. The application has options to edit the photos, with basic functions, such as rotate, resize, adjust the brightness, exposure, color, etc.

It also allows you to apply filters to give them different styles, and even write or draw on the photo. So without resorting to any third-party tools, users can use this app for quick editing of their photos and images saved on their Windows devices. And soon, more options will be added.

Photo slideshows with music and animations from Windows

As the Microsoft team mentions, a series of new features will arrive in the Photos application.

For example, users will be able to create photo slideshows with music, transitions, and animations. By simply choosing a photo and selecting the options that interest them, they can start a slideshow of all the photos in a folder or album.

So if you want, for example, to share your vacation photos during a family reunion, you can activate this dynamic to make viewing more enjoyable, without having to resort to a program to create a presentation.

Another novelty that we will see in a future update of the Photos application is that the scroll bar for the timeline is added again. As is the case with Google Photos, for example, users will be able to scroll through the timeline in their library to view photos from a specific date.

A tool to remove elements and correct imperfections in photos

And with this host of new features is also coming a new photo editing tool. This is the Spot Fix function, which promises to remove unwanted areas or elements in an image.

It’s not as powerful a tool as the “Magic Eraser” in Google Photos, but it can help you improve a blemish or camouflage something. You will only have to customize the size of the tool and point to the area you want to modify, so that it can do its job.

All of these features are not yet available in Microsoft Photos as they are being tested on the Canary and Dev channels within the Insiders program. But it is possible that all these news will arrive in the coming months in the stable version of Windows 11.
