Much has been said about the arrival of a specific app from the Cupertino company for classical music, and now it is a reality: Apple Music Classical is now available for pre-order on the App Store. Its launch is expected to be imminent, and it will be available before the end of March.

Apple Music Classical comes to the App Store

Two years ago, Apple acquired the classical music streaming service Primephonic. Now, this platform is part of Apple Music through an app specialized in this genre: Apple Music Classical. The app is already available for pre-order on the App Store, with its official release expected on March 28, 2023. You can pre-order quickly, and depending on your settings, the automatic download will start once it’s released. The service is free and is bundled with an Apple Music or Apple One subscription.

Apple testified before the medium TechCrunch that its new app, Apple Music Classical, will give Apple Music subscribers access to a wide selection of songs. Specific, there will be more than five million classical music tracks, plus releases in exceptional quality and a large number of playlists. If you’re interested, there will also be thousands of exclusive albums, among other features that will enhance your experience, such as composer biographies and relevant facts about some works.

Apple Music Classical offers a simple interface to interact with all classical music. The difference with the usual Apple Music app is that this new version of Classical has search options by composer, work, director and catalog number, among others. Users will have easy access to the most relevant data from editorial notes and descriptions.

The complexity of this application has been carefully designed, so much so that Apple requested high-resolution digital portraits of renowned composers such as Ludwig van Beethoven, Frédéric Chopin, and Johann Sebastian Bach, specifically to display in the app. The portraits were detailed with a range of colors and artistic references that were used in the corresponding classical period. Apple also indicated that other exclusive works will be added in future updates. The company worked with classical music artists and institutions to enhance the experience.

Download Apple Music Classical only for iOS 15.4 onwards from its release. It has also been announced that there will be an Android version “soon”.
