As widely anticipated a few weeks ago, Apple has updated the list of its vintage products with eight additional models of MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iMac and iPad. The first stand out in the list MacBook Pro with Touch Bar presented by the Cupertino company in October 2016. We recall that by vintage we mean those Apple devices whose sale has been completed for more than five years and less than seven years; past the upper limit, the products will pass directly into the “obsolete” category.

The difference between the two product categories is the following: vintage products can still be officially repaired at Apple or authorized centers, but everything is subject to the availability of spare parts, obsolete products can no longer be repaired through official channels, forcing the user to fall back on third party repairers (and possible availability of components).

Below is the updated list of Apple products that have become vintage starting from last July 31:

  • MacBook (12 “, Early 2016)
  • MacBook Air (13 “, Early 2015)
  • MacBook Pro (13 “, Early 2015)
  • MacBook Pro (13 “, 2016, two Thunderbolt ports)
  • MacBook Pro (13 “, 2016, four Thunderbolt ports)
  • MacBook Pro (15 “, 2016)
  • iMac (21.5 “, Late 2015)
  • iMac (27 “, Retina 5K, Late 2015)
  • iPad Pro (9.7 “, 2016)
