The 2023 edition of Google I / O was full of announcements, we participated in the debut of Pixel Fold, Pixel 7a and Pixel Tablet, and we learned about the news that the Mountain View company has in store in the field of artificial intelligence . Obviously there was also space for Android 14, which was followed by the release of the second beta which brings us ever closer to the publication of the stable version, expected for this summer.

But you know, each version of Google’s operating system always corresponds to a statue… so it was last year with the discussed swing (some say it looks like something else), and so it is – indeed, it will be – this year. The 2023 mascot still hasn’t been placed outside with the past “editions” (freshly restored and scattered around the campus), but has been immortalized alongside software engineer Jameson Williams still hidden inside one of the buildings of the Googleplex.

The dimensions are important, since the statue is as tall as an adult man, only the because the little green robot is dressed as an astronaut with your feet resting on lunar craters. Simple, the call goes to Apollo 14 mission symbol from which Google took inspiration for the Android 14 logo:

Perhaps it is still too early for the debut of the statue, given that last year it was unveiled later, during the summer, and for this reason some doubted that it was not the real or definitive one. In reality it seems that it is, since the expert of the world of Android Mishaal Rahman had already identified it in the past.
