AMD seems to be preparing to launch a new processor with 3D V-Cache, its memory stacking technology that promises much more performance in games. According to information leaked last Saturday (10), the Ryzen 5 5600X3D may be launched as the cheapest model in the “X3D” line.

the leaker @g01d3nm4ng0 published a screenshot that shows the alleged specifications of the Ryzen 5 5600X3D. Considering its nomenclature numbered “5000”, we can deduce that this model will be compatible with AMD socket AM4since it must have the same Zen 3 architecture as the Ryzen 7 5800X3D.

The material indicates that the Ryzen 5 5600X3D will have 6 cores and 12 threads, just like the Ryzen 5 5600X. The differential is in its capacity of 96 MB in L3 cache, that is, four times longer than its version without 3D caching technology. Clock speeds, on the other hand, would be reduced to 4.4GHz (maximum) and 3.3GHz (basic).

Users who have not yet migrated to the new generation of motherboards compatible with AMD processors, that is, platforms with the new AM5 socket, will be able to count on an even more affordable option than the Ryzen 7 5800X3D — the brand’s first CPU with 3D V-Cache — whose launch price was US$449 (about R$2,189).

With this, it is possible to deduce that the Ryzen 5 5600X3D will be sold in the range between US$ 299 and US$ 399 (about R$ 1,459–1,940). Remember that the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, the cheapest model of the new generation with 3D V-Cache, has a suggested retail price of US$ 449.

AMD has not yet confirmed the launch of new processors with its innovative stacked memory technology, but it is possible that the hardware giant is expanding its investments in these models after noticing a high demand for variants equipped with 3D V-Cache.
