Microsoft appears to be in a mature phase of development for an upcoming Windows 11 feature update. Known as “Moment 3,” this update should encompass a series of optimizations of the operating system and bring improvements in its design after the launch of “Moment 2”, which should be released by March.

The user @XenoPanther of Twitter discovered last Sunday (05) that there are some references to Windows 11 versions 23141 and 23145 in the Beta channel. According to the enthusiast, these future compilations of the operating system may be indicative of the Moment 3 update, expected to be released in the 1st half.

Members of the company’s testing program previously discovered that these versions were referenced in the Dev channel, and now, with the appearance of these indications in the Beta channel, it is possible to deduce that Microsoft is moving forward with the development of Moment 3.

Between February and March, Windows 11 should receive the Moment 2 update with several changes to the user interface, including improvements to the taskbar and tablet mode, as well as new options in the search field. It is worth remembering that Moment 1 brought several highlights, such as navigation by tabs in the File Explorer.

Moment 3 should be released between May and June, following the focus on improving the user experience. The changes in this update should include optimizations for foldable notebooks – such as the ASUS Zenbook 17 Fold OLED – and more changes to its design, which still has “legacy” traits from Windows 10.

While it is still too early to deduce, there are rumors indicating that the big tech will release a “Moment 4” update in mid-September or October, possibly as part of a comprehensive new version of Windows 11 known as “23H2”. We still don’t know what features will be brought by this version.

Microsoft is currently looking to expand the popularity of the OS’s new widget panel with Spotify additions and better integration with Samsung phones.
