The lately controversial platform, Twitter continues with various changes in its processes and recent innovations. Despite the fact that some modifications have some controversies, the company has some very interesting changes in the plans for the future. Last Tuesday, the Twitter app noticed some important changes with the deployment of the update on iOS and Android to introduce changes in direct messages (DM). Among other issues, Musk’s platform reported that audio and video calls will soon arrive.

Twitter with improvements in DM and video calls

This news came thanks to the well-known and always controversial CEO of Twitter, Elon Musk via his profile in the app. According to the CEO, the new update to the Twitter app now allows users to reply to messages from a thread and not just the most recent ones. It is also possible that users may have new reaction options, being able to choose any emoji for this action. Even so, there are some other novelties.

According to Musk, the platform will have more DM protection with encryption starting today. In this way you can have a huge advance in privacy, since the company will not have any knowledge about the encrypted messages. The CEO indicated that such messages “will grow in sophistication rapidly.” Since the year 218, the platform had some bugs that allowed third-party developers to view direct messages from users.

However, Elon mentioned that Twitter is scheduling new features for voice and video chat that will remind some users to use FaceTime. The CEO went on to share more information, saying that now you will also be able to call “anyone on this platform, so you can talk to people anywhere in the world without giving them your phone number”.

For now, Twitter will give you the option to call live by voice in Twitter Spaces. However, Spaces is public and only focused on group chats. This will be Twitter’s first foray into competing against other calling platforms for online audio and video.

Circles bug fix

Since April, some users on Twitter reported some bugs that displayed private Circles tweets to random users from the For You tab. A week ago, the platform paid attention to this security problem and reported to users from his email last Friday that this bug was fully fixed.

Finally, the Twitter API for free will be available to government services despite the fact that they closed it a month ago.
