TikTok is rolling out a new violation system to penalize creators who violate the platform’s policies.

A new strategy to carry out a more effective moderation and improve the user experience.

New moderation system and tools for TikTok creators

The TikTok team announced that it is implementing a new system to penalize users who break the rules by posting inappropriate content. And for this, it is adopting a strike system similar to the one that YouTube has been using for some time.

For example, when someone posts content that violates TikTok’s policies, they will receive a warning and their post will be removed. If it persists in this behavior, it will accumulate warnings until I reached the established limit. When that happens, your account will be permanently deleted.

A strategy that aims to act effectively against repeat offenders, and will be applied to the different sections of the app. For example, if you break the rules in your live streams, posts, comments, etc.

However, if a user commits a serious violation of the TikTok rules, they could be banned outright, without going through the warning system. On the other hand, another of the objectives of this update that TikTok is launching has to do with giving more transparency to its infraction system.

And for this, it will also give creators new tools so that they are informed about any infringement that their content has received. They will have a dedicated space to see if they have received a notice in the last 90 days, as well as the ability to track the status of their violations.

These include an “Account Status” page where creators can easily view the status of their account and a “Report Logs” page where creators can view the status of reports they have made on other content or accounts.
