Every detail that is anticipated from the future Nothing Phone (1) reveals a peculiarity that is not usually found in most mobiles. Its rear lighting system is one example: in an extensive video posted by Marques Brownlee, the rear lighting of the Nothing Phone (1) demonstrates its potential as system of notifications, notification of calls and even photographic lighting.
Transparency is Nothing’s leitmotif, the company has shown that its design lines go through make some of the internal components visible. In its first product, the Nothing Ear (1), the transparent plastic of the earphones and the case give the device a unique look. And the company wants that same impression with its first phone: expectations are very high.
Lighting according to the rhythm of the tones
We are very few weeks away from seeing the phone definitively and we cannot say that it is unknown because it has been the company itself who was in charge of showing it in detail. First in preview photos, then we saw the Nothing Phone (1) exhibited at an art fair. Now, a previous analysis of the mobile leaves even less room for unknowns.
Marques Brownlee, one of the best known technology analysts in the world, received a unit of Nothing Phone (1) so that show some of the characteristic details of the phone. And the illumination of the rear face took much of the prominence; not in vain does it aim to become that detail that will make you stand out from the rest.
As we already knew, the design of the Nothing Phone has a certain air of iPhone 4 and iPhone 12 combined: straight edges and rounded corners are very similar. Although the transparent back face distances any other resemblance: although it does not allow all the components to be seen, the transparency lets in the light of an LED system designed to become an extra of the phone.
The LED system forms a design that decorates the phone with different strips that can be illuminated independently and LED by LED. This makes it possible to create light patterns; that perfectly match the rhythm of ringtones and notifications. In addition, the lighting system serves to give light to nearby objects since it can work as a flashlight. Not only that: MKBHD shows in its video the capabilities of the back of the Nothing Phone (1) as portrait lighting. It will be necessary to see if this light system does not interfere with the cameras when taking photos.
The LED system seems to provide more than curiosity, we will have to check it when we analyze it. There is less left: next July 12 is the date on which Nothing will completely reveal everything that has to do with its first smartphone. If there is something left to reveal, of course.
