How to Import and Export Bookmarks in Google Chrome

If you switch browsers a lot and need to continue to have access to your favorite websites, knowing how to import and export bookmarks in Google Chrome is essential. Especially since the browser is one of the most used on the planet.

Currently, the browser allows you to export and import an HTML file with your bookmarks. Procedure quite similar to what can also be seen in some competitors.

How to Export Your Google Chrome Bookmarks

  • With Chrome open on your computer, click on the three-dot icon located at the top of the screen;
  • Now click on “Favorites” and then click on “bookmark manager”.

  • Click on the three dots located at the top of the page.

  • Click on the option “export bookmarks” and select a folder on your computer to save the file.

You’ve learned how to export your bookmarks from Google Chrome! Now just access the target browser (if any) and carry out the process of importing the bookmarks, selecting the file you just generated.

How to Import Your Bookmarks to Google Chrome

  • With Chrome open on your computer, click on the three-dot icon located at the top of the screen;
  • Now click on “Favorites” and then click on “Import bookmarks and settings”.

  • In the new window, click on “Choose File”;
  • Choose the .html file exported from another browser. A message will indicate that the bookmarks were successfully imported.

Now that your bookmarks have been imported, they will be in a folder called “imported” – in case you already set some bookmarks in Chrome itself. If you didn’t have anything saved, they will appear normally in your favorites.
