If you were already a gamer in the early 2000s, you will certainly remember games like Marvel Ultimate Alliance, X-Men Legends or even the game based on the second Fantastic Four movie.

The common link between these games is that they are all Action RPG style, where you assume the role of a member of a team to face hordes of enemies and accomplish objectives. Although the video game industry has other equally outstanding examples, such as the saga diablowe can say that these Marvel games end up standing out in their own niche, mainly because of the affective memory that some players have for them.

Despite not strictly following the formula of Marvel Ultimate Alliance, the indie game superfusedeveloped by stitch heads entertainment and published by raw furyis a way to kill nostalgia.

In a world where humanity has been corrupted by a pandemic that transforms humans into grotesque and menacing creatures, Superfuse puts us in the role of an Enforcer, a team defined as “the superpowered protectors of humanity”.

The game is set on the mining asteroid Eros, a distant outpost in the galaxy built after Earth was abandoned by humans.

Players can choose from three different classes of Enforcer: Berseker, Elementalist or Technomancer, each with unique abilities and talents.

Unfortunately, unlike the Marvel games, the player can only control one character at a time, which limits the variety of combat during gameplay.

Can be played in Solo campaign or online multiplayer for up to four playersSuperfuse serves as a good preparation for the upcoming Diablo 4 or to kill a little nostalgia for Marvel Ultimate Alliance and the like.

Even though it is well produced and has a great comic art style and an engaging soundtrack, the game does not take long to present its limitations in terms of gameplay, lacking more variety of actions and being too limited to exploring the maps while defeating hordes. of enemies to exhaustion.

Being an indie title, the limitations are understandable and I have to say that the team did a great job with the resources they had at their disposal, particularly in the skill system, which has a wide range of attacks.

In addition to the traditional skill tree, where the player unlocks new attacks as they level up, the game has a fusion system, where you can equip “fuses” to your skills to create a wide variety of attacks. This greatly increases the strategic level and variation of the game.

As in any good RPG, the title also has an equipment system, where you can put on costumes and accessories, which, in addition to changing your character’s appearance, also grant increases in his status. This item collection system is allocated in an inventory, leaving the player to manage very well which items to carry.

Despite having good ideas, Superfuse ends up being limited within its own scope, which is a shame, considering that it has a lot of potential to deliver a game that lives up to its genre peers.

Anyway, the variety of attacks, attractive art style and the soundtrack are certainly very positive points in the game.

Superfuse is available for PC via Steam.
