Samsung appears not to have captured the interest of the global public with the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4, and economic problems in other areas are directly reflecting in its forecasts for its final fiscal quarter. According to the report, the expectation for the 3rd quarter of 2022 (between July and September) is 10.8 trillion won in earnings, which translates to about R$40.03 billion. The figure is significantly below the 15.82 trillion won earned in the same period in 2021, marking the first profit drop in three years.
On the other hand, the revenue seems to have grown steadily in the previous quarter. Samsung estimates that all of its divisions earned approximately 76 trillion won—about R$280.2 billion—in the period in question, representing a 2.7% increase from Q3 2021.
Although it has maintained its position in the global leadership of the cell phone market amid the obstacles of the coronavirus pandemic, the low demand for foldable cell phones in the global market is coupled with the rise in component prices and the problems in the sale of semiconductors, forming an unstable scenario. too much for Samsung.
Analysts indicate that profits from the company’s smartphone division will fall by approximately 17%.
