Samsung may go back to mass-producing high-end processors for Qualcomm. According to new information obtained in South Korea, this should happen at the launch of Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.

Sources with access to the companies’ plans say the chipset will be made on TSMC’s 3nm process, while the “Snapdragon for Galaxy” models should use Samsung’s own 3nm 3GAP.

With that, if the partnership is confirmed, this will be a true “attestation” that Samsung’s 3nm technology will have achieved TSMC’s excellence in terms of performance and efficiency.

As much as Samsung wants to launch some Galaxy S24 units with Exynos 2400, Qualcomm will remain the “star” of new devices.

In addition, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will still have TSMC’s production “monopoly”, even those that are included in Samsung’s devices.

However, in the Galaxy S25 this may end up changing, since Qualcomm has closely followed the evolution of Samsung’s chip assembly line.

For those who don’t remember, the companies were partners in the production of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, but production problems ended up making Qualcomm choose TSMC to be its sole supplier.

So far, the companies have not commented on the matter. Therefore, we emphasize that everything needs to be considered as just another market rumor.
