Apparently the surprises from Samsung regarding tablets they don’t want to finish: not only have rumors emerged in recent days about a possible expansion of the Galaxy Tab S9 range downwards with an economic FE-class device, but now the leaker known as Tech_Reve says that the first foldable tablet.

The device should be called Samsung Galaxy Z Tab, and could debut relatively soon – perhaps even with the Tab S9. The source is not very sure, also because of course a company’s plans can change over time based on any difficulties and complications that emerge during the development of a product. In any case, there is talk of a “really high” launch probability within this year, otherwise we will talk about it in 2024. It is not the first time that the indiscretion has emerged, both for Samsung and for other manufacturers; in fact, 2024 could be the year in which proposals from various manufacturers – including Apple and Xiaomi – will arrive on the market.

For the moment, the technical details – especially relating to the body and format – are not known. It is however true that Samsung in the past has filed several patents relating to foldable tablets; one of these imagines a device divided into three sections – a larger central one and two lateral ones more or less half as wide, which fold over the central section overlapping more or less perfectly.

Colleagues of Let’s Go Digital they had made a quick schematic drawing, as you can see above, imagining both an inward and outward fold of the display. But we want to emphasize that there are no indications that this will be the design that will hit the market, and that the big electronics giants patent dozens and dozens of ideas every week. It is difficult to make sensible predictions about them alone. In any case, we take note and await further information.
