Last December, CD Projekt Red breathed new life into the critically acclaimed The Witcher 3 by releasing a free game update for the new generation of consoles and PC, which implements next-gen features like DualSense haptic feedback support and ray tracing.
In early January, the developer revealed that those who want to buy the updated version of the game for PS5 and Xbox Series in physical edition, could do so through The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition, which would be released soon.
This week, CD Projekt Red confirmed the launch of this edition in Europe, but unfortunately, it will be exclusive to PS5. Players will be able to find it in stores from February 20th.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition harnesses the extra power of modern hardware to offer numerous visual and technical improvements over the original title. For PlayStation 5, which now gets a physical version of the game in Europe, they include Performance and Ray Tracing modes, support for AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution, faster load times, and more. The game also utilizes the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, allowing players to have a more immersive experience.
Additionally, the next-gen version features items and a quest inspired by Netflix’s The Witcher series, as well as quality-of-life additions: new camera options, quick launch of Signs, Photo Mode, cross-platform progression, map and UI, a selection of community-created mods built into the experience, and more.
The Complete Edition also comes with all previously released content for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — including Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine expansions, as well as 16 DLCs with extra content.

The Witcher 3: Updated Version for PS5 and Xbox Series Will Get Physical Edition Soon
In December of last year, CD Projekt Red released the long-awaited update for the new generation of consoles for the acclaimed The Witcher 3, which brought improvements in lighting, effects and visual details, as well as new content inspired by the Netflix series.
While fans who already own the game can download this update, many would like to be able to purchase the PS5 or Xbox Series native edition in physical form. If you’re one of those people, you can celebrate, as the studio has confirmed their release this week.
Recently, rumors began to emerge that physical versions of The Witcher 3 – Complete Edition for Xbox Series X/S and PS5 would be released, and CD Projekt Red has now provided a statement to Insider Gaming confirming the information.
CD Projekt Red is planning a physical release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition for the end of January 2023. It will be available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The box will include a disc containing the base game and expansions Hearts of Stone & Blood and Wine.
All official DLCs and updates released over the past seven years by CD Projekt Red will also be part of this bundle – including the next-gen free update, with dozens of visual, performance and technical improvements (including ray-tracing support, faster loading times on consoles, a variety of mods built into the experience, and much more). The box will only contain said disc. Pricing and availability are determined by retailers in each territory.
Insider Gamer believes that the new physical version of the game will be released on January 26th and will be priced between $30 and $35, but as usual, we’ll have to wait for official confirmation to find out.
