THE apple filed new patents that may be clues to its first device with a foldable screen. First of all, it is worth remembering that the apple has already registered a patent that made mention of a screen capable of regenerating itself. This time, in addition to another patent related to this, she also registered a panel crack resistant.

According to information from the portal Android Headlines, the resistant display patent mentions a component made with three layers. In this sense, one layer is a thin substrate, the second a thin-film transistor, and the third is a protective layer.

The last layer has the main function of protecting the first and thus, the protection of the device’s screen must be guaranteed. As for the other patent, there is not much secret, as it refers to the protection layer. In this way, the display is able to regenerate itself when suffering minor surface scratches.

The details of this measure, however, were not revealed. At first, other device proposals brought displays with this capability in the past. Something that could be part of this idea is the use of chemical compounds to help the panel recover in case of damage of this level.

In any case, there is still no confirmation that this will in fact be implemented on an iPhone or iPad with a foldable screen. After all, it is just a patent and there are always chances that it will not come true. Meanwhile, speculation continues and even mentions the possibility of a MacBook with a folding panel being launched by the Cupertino giant.
