Instagram will allow you to create text-only posts in a new mode in the application

Instagram was originally launched with the proposal of being a social network exclusively dedicated to photos, but that changed from 2012 when Facebook (currently called ‘Meta’) bought the rival platform for the amount of US$ 1 billion, directly impacting the unique service concept.

Since then, Instagram has received several updates changing the app’s logo, introducing a redesign in the navigation interface and adding new features for users. One of the most significant changes was the arrival of the Stories and Reels section, however, a leak points to a function being developed by the company.

As revealed by software engineer Alessandro Paluzzi, Instagram is working on “Text Mode” allowing users to post not only photos to the feed, but also texts. In summary, the feature is very similar to what is available on Facebook, allowing texts to be published as an image on the timeline.

In the case of Instagram, it is possible to choose the background color and later add a short text about the content you want to cover in the profile, be it an alert, message for all or redirection to other networks, but we still don’t know if there will be support for hyperlinks or only the non-clickable text.

There is still no information about the development stage of this function or when it will arrive for everyone, because the text mode has not even been released on the Instagram beta channel.
