Although yesterday’s session was monopolized by Apple with the presentation of WWDC 2022, Google has also presented some news.

In this case, focused on their Pixel phones as part of the Feature Drop scheduled for this month. We tell you what news this update brings.

News for the Google Pixel

One of the novelties has to do with Pocket Operator, an application that allows users to create their own music from their Pixel:

Using the Pixel phone’s video camera as a sampling tool and using Google’s TensorFlow machine learning to analyze and categorize the samples, you can create unique drum kits and samples from the things around you wherever you are.

So the user will be able to create patterns, visual effects, superimpose sounds, tracks and carry out all the musical tests that they want with the application. Although this app is available from Google Play, it is only compatible with Pixel 5 and higher.

Google has also added a new feature that allows users to create a shortcut to their COVID certificate. The dynamic is simple, they just have to take a screenshot of the certificate, and a new option to create a shortcut will be displayed on the home screen of the Pixel.

This new feature is not available internationally, and is only enabled in the United States, Australia, and Canada. On the other hand, the Google team is providing new options to the “At a glance” widget so that it provides more information to the user. For example, a reminder will be added notifying the user that they have the flashlight on, air quality alerts and it will show information about the Nest Doorbell.

The “Sound Amplifier” app is also improved to eliminate ambient noise and have clearer-sounding conversations. For this dynamic to work, the user only has to focus the camera on the person they are talking to so that the AI does its job.
