Call of Duty Modern Warfare II is the biggest release in the franchise on the PlayStation Store

Sony Interactive Entertainment revealed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II broke a record and became the biggest launch of the franchise on PlayStation Store, the Japanese company’s digital store.

Sony and Microsoft have publicly feuded over the series, with the Japanese company fearful of losing the Call of Duty franchise to its biggest rival with its acquisition of Activision Blizzard.

Without bringing numbers, PlayStation congratulated Activision and Infinity Ward on the launch of Call of Duty Modern Warfare II becoming the biggest in the franchise on its digital store.

The Japanese company took into account the numbers in the pre-sale, early access and launch phase. According to her, the game managed to outperform its predecessor, the 2019 Modern Warfare remake.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is now available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Battle.net and Steam.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, DMZ and Battle Royale modes will be released in Season 1 of the game in November 16th.

Players will face off on the new Al Mazrah map as part of Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, survive in a new DMZ experience, and enjoy a new Battle Pass system with two free weapons.

Several rumors that Activision will not release a new Call of Duty in 2023 and Modern Warfare II will have a 2-year life cycle, receiving a pack of classic maps of the franchise and an expansion of its campaign.
