Apple has finally released iOS 16.3. So if you have a compatible iPhone, you can now update to this new version that brings a series of new features.

While it doesn’t stand out as a major update, there are some nice improvements and features worth learning about.

What’s New in iOS 16.3

One of the novelties that you will find in iOS 16.3 has to do with support for security keys, giving an extra when logging in with your Apple ID:

Security keys for Apple ID allow users to strengthen their account security by requiring a physical security key as part of the two-factor authentication sign-in process on new devices

It may not be an ideal proposition for all users, but now you have this option available for whenever you want to configure it.

On the other hand, you will find a small modification in the dynamics of the SOS Emergency function. Instead of waiting for the countdown to finish before calling the emergency service, with this update the call will start when we release the corresponding buttons (side button + volume up or down button).

And of course, with this update some bugs are fixed. For example, the bug that caused the lock background to stay black, and the bug that caused horizontal lines to appear when the iPhone 14 Pro Max was turned on, is fixed. On the other hand, some fixes have to do with interaction with Siri, for example, it should no longer have problems responding to your music requests.

Remember that to update your iPhone to iOS 16.3 you just have to go to Settings >> General >> Software Update. Just wait a few seconds for the update to be searched for, and when it finds it, just click on “Download and install”.

It is a simple process, since you only have to follow the instructions that you will see on the screen. One detail that you should not forget is to have your iPhone with enough charge to finish the process without problems.
