The three applications most used by users in Spain during 2023 are: WhatsApp, YouTube and Facebook, and it shouldn’t surprise us. WhatsApp is one of the biggest messaging apps in the world, while YouTube is full of content to enjoy, and Facebook continues to be a very popular social network. But these are not the only social networks or messaging apps in the top 10 most used applications in the last year.
The 10 most used mobile applications in Spain (in 2023)
These data come from the most recent study carried out by Smartme Analytics. The intention of the firm, according to its official report, is to “reflect on the performance of the applications and compare it with the rest of the competitors in the sector.” To get the results, Smartme Analytics monitored 13,000 users in Spain continuously and in real time.
The most used apps in the country during 2023 include some that we could expect, but also several surprises. It is not strange to find applications such as Instagram, TikTok, Amazon and Netflix on this list, however, the positions in which several apps are among the Top 10 are still interesting.

Some interesting notes revealed by this list: Netflix and Prime Video are among the most used apps in Spain, being the only streaming platforms for series and movies present on the list. Instagram is more used in the country than TikTok, but Meta’s social network is just one step higher. The virtual stores of Amazon, AliExpress and Wallapop are so used in the country that are among the top 10 positions of the list.
For the rest, the Top 10 most used apps in Spain include Spotify, X (Twitter) and apps from financial institutions and other establishments. Many of us constantly install and test applications on our phones, but this survey reveals that we always end up returning to the same applications.
