WhatsApp for iOS receives function to use the messenger on several cell phones

Updated on:

Good news for iOS users: WhatsApp has just released the feature for everyone in version 23.10.76 companion mode allowing to use the same account on another smartphone. This function arrives for Apple’s operating system a few weeks after it was made official for Android, thus completing the launch schedule.

According to information from the specialized portal WABetaInfo, the tool was made available in the stable version of the messenger, allowing all iPhone users to test the novelty after installing the latest version. The package can be downloaded from this Tuesday (30) directly on the App Store, iOS application store.

To use the multi-device mode, you must have the other device in your hands, as you will need to scan a QR Code authorizing account sharing. The path is the same as if you were going to link the cell phone in the web or desktop version, just click on Settings > Connected Devices > New.

After completing this walkthrough, the secondary phone will have full access to the account, including media files and messages sent or received on the primary iPhone. All connected devices (up to 4) use end-to-end encryption, ensuring that content between sender and receiver cannot be accessed by third parties.
