A month after the shooting of the third season of The Witcherits protagonist, Henry Cavill, has tested positive for Covid-19which is why the production has decided to suspend the recordings until the actor tests negative.

Although it is still unknown since when the British tested positive, some media speculate that it was last week and that perhaps that was one of the reasons why cavill didn’t show up at the San Diego Comic-Conconvention in which it was believed he would be present to give a preview of the third season of this show created by Netflix.

The news was broken by a fan site for the show called Redanian Intelligence. Production cannot continue without Henry, since the actor is the main one in the story and everything indicates that these weeks one of the most important scenes of the season would be recorded.

This is not the first time that the The Witcher pause your filming. It was in November 2020, during the production of the second season, that the team had to suspend the recording due to various people on the set of the program in United Kingdom they tested positive for the virus.

In addition to this, months later with the entire team free of coronavirus, they had to stop again, but on that occasion this was because cavill he injured his leg in December 2020. This hiatus took the team several months of inactivity.

The third season of this series is just the next installment in the fantasy franchise, but Netflix is working on a prequel titled The Witcher: Blood Originin addition to The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolfanimated series with a more familiar approach.

The new season of this show, according to the streaming platform, will tell how “while the monarchs, the magicians and the beasts of the continent compete to capture it, geralt carries Ciri from Cintra into hiding, determined to protect his newly reunited family from those who threaten to destroy it.”

cavill gives life to Geralt of Riviawho is one of the warlocks and mutated humans trained to kill monsters that roam the Continent, the series’ fictional fantasy world.

In fiction, whose first two seasons are available in Netflix, geralt and the other warlocks, received training that made their reflexes fast and they are fed special potions in a process called Trial of the Herbs that most do not survive.

After their training, the warlocks wander around looking for coins in exchange for ridding people of the monsters that invaded reality after a catastrophic event.

geralt becomes involved in a conspiracy involving Ciri, the granddaughter of a kingdom called Cintrawhich was invaded by the Empire Nilfgaardian, a region in the south of the continent.

Created by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, the series is based on the book series by polish fantasy author Andrzej Sapkowski. Freya Allan and Anya Chalotra they also play the lead roles of Ciri and Yennefer, respectively.
