And OnePlus is no stranger to this strategy, as before models like the OnePlus 12 we witnessed a good amount of official leaked information. With the OnePlus 12R history repeats itself.
On January 23, the OnePlus 12R will be presented globally
According to OnePlus, 2024 represents a change in strategy with respect to the distribution of the high-end. Yes ok the OnePlus 12 will be the brand’s most expensive and prestigious modelalways with permission of the OnePlus Open, the future OnePlus 12R will make an appearance in Western markets. This breaks the usual geographical limitation of the R, which is usually limited to the Asian terrain.
The OnePlus 12R will be a high-end one due to its hardware and software features. It will have great performance as standard, it remains to be seen if the brand will bet on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or by one of the high-end MediaTek. For the last unofficial leaks, it would be neither one nor the other: the future smartphone could include a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2a high-performance SoC that is already more than a year old.
Design similar to recent high-end models, “Alert Slider” slider to easily switch between different sound modes (on the left side of the phone), high-quality materials and at the level of a high-end, two colors available (blue and gray) and triple rear camera, surely with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX 890 sensor as the main one.
Oneplus will officially present the OnePlus 12R on January 23 at 3:00 p.m. in Spain. It can be purchased later in European territory and also in North America, as confirmed by the brand. We still have no news about the rest of the usual markets.
