Huawei has a new processor, a Kirin 9000SL that it has tried to keep secret in the specifications of the Nova 12

Huawei does not want to say goodbye to the year without presenting new phones, four to be exact. This is the Huawei Nova 12 familybut although they may seem like many models, there are really two with some variants.

Next, we are going to see all the details and features of the new Huawei Nova 12, but the most interesting thing is that The Chinese company seems to have a new processor on its hands, the Kirin 9000SL who drinks from controversial Kirin 9000.

Design and screen: practically the same two by two

Huawei Nova 12 Ultra

On an aesthetic level, the four models do not differ too much, but as we said, we have to talk about them in pairs. The Huawei Nova 12 Ultra and Nova 12 Pro have an identical camera module on the back, as well as the same screen with the same double hole in the central part for the cameras.

In fact, in dimensions they are identical and what varies is the weight, as well as the colors. The screen of both models is OLED with a diagonal of 6.76 inches and LTPO refresh from 1 to 120 Hz. In addition, they have a resolution of 2,776 x 1,224 pixels and the same 2,160 Hz PWM.

If we go to the Huawei Nova 12 and Nova 12 Lite, we are also talking about the same screen: a 6.7-inch OLED panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 2,412 x 1,084 pixels. In this case, the hole for the front camera is simple and the design of the Nova 12 Lite varies a little from that of its brothers due to a more elongated camera module.

It is strange considering that it shares cameras with the Nova 12, as we will see later, but it is a way for Huawei to differentiate the two terminals.

Processor and battery: a new Kirin to mark distances with the United States

Huawei Nova 12 Ultra

The processor is the most interesting point of these new Huawei. The reason is that, on the official specifications page, the only model that has details about it is the Huawei Nova 12 Lite. This one mounts the Snapdragon 778G 4Ga processor that has been on the market for a while, but continues to offer good performance in day-to-day tasks.

It is unknown which is the official processor of the other three modelsbut there is already a leak of the one they have chosen for the Huawei Nova 12 Ultra and the Nova 12 Pro.

This is the Kirin 9000SL, the brother of the controversial Kirin 9000S that has turned the United States upside down over the last few months and, although there is still no information about the lithography, we do know the frequency and the nuclei.

In Weibosome images have appeared that allow us to see the characteristics of both processors and the differences between the Kirin 9000S, the 9000SL and the 8000, which, supposedly, is the SoC of the Nova 12 Pro.

We leave you the characteristics below:

  Kirin 9000S kirin 9000SL Kirin 8000
High power cores 1 to 2.62 GHz 2 × 2.35GHz 1 x 2.4GHz
power cores 3 x 2.15GHz 4 x 2.15GHz 3 x 2.18GHz
efficiency cores 4 x 1.53GHz 3 x 1.53GHz 4 x 1.84GHz
GPU Maleoon 910 at 750 MHz Maleoon 910 at 750 MHz Mali-G610 at 864 MHz

All four models have Harmony OS 4 as a system and the Nova 12 Ultra, Pro and Nova 12 have a 4,600 mAh battery with 100 W charging. The Nova 12 Lite remains at 4,500 mAh with 66 W charging.

Cameras: 2x optical on the front of the Ultra and Pro models

Huawei Nova 12 Ultra

And we come to the cameras, a section in which, again, we have to distinguish by pairs. The Huawei Nova 12 Ultra and Nova 12 Pro have a double front camera with a 60 megapixel wide angle and an 8 megapixel 2x optical lens.

It is an interesting configuration on the front and on the rear they have a 50 megapixel main sensor with f/1.4 to f/4.0 variable aperture lenses and an 8 megapixel wide angle with macro function.

The Nova 12 and Nova 12 Lite only have a front cameraa 60 megapixel f/2.4 wide angle and a rear pair of 50 megapixel f/1.9 for the angle and the same 8 megapixel wide angle of its older brothers.
