Samsung’s next smartwatches, whose name will most likely be Galaxy Watch 6, have been spotted at the FCC in the United States: two code names have passed the body, namely SM-R930 and SM-R940. It is assumed that they will be, respectively, the one with the smallest box and the one with the largest box; also mentioned SM-R935 and SM-R945, which could be the variants with 4G LTE modem (or the two variants of the classic model, it is not yet entirely clear).

As expected, not much has emerged: the R930 and R940 documentation merely indicates the presence of Bluetooth 5.3, support for NFC and Wi-Fi. Information that is far from surprising. However, the maximum charging speed via Qi wireless protocol (charger will be included), that is 10W – the same seen on the current generation of Galaxy Watch 5. For reference, Galaxy Watch 4s only charged at 5W.

Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic are expected to debut at end of July during the next Unpacked event, which Samsung confirmed just a few hours ago also saying it will be held at Seoul, the capital of South Korea and the company’s headquarters. We don’t have the exact day yet, but it’s assumed to be July 26th. No product has been confirmed yet, but it is a script that we have come to know well over the years: let’s say that we would be very surprised if the Wear OS smartwatches and new generation Android foldable smartphones (both Flip and Fold) were missing from the event.

According to the information that has emerged so far, Galaxy Watch 6 Classic should see the return of a very distinctive feature of Samsung smartwatches of the past: the rotating bezel to control the interface (in a conceptual way similar to the Digital Crown, to understand). It is not entirely clear if it will also be present on the “regular” Galaxy Watch 6. It seems that there will also be a new SoC, the Exynos W980, which should guarantee greater power and greater autonomy; a slightly larger display is also to be expected. For all models the case should be round.
