Announced last Wednesday (01), the new Samsung Galaxy S23 are the South Korean giant’s bet for another year within the competitive smartphone market. And as expected, the new devices are already being subjected to various performance tests around the world.
Taking advantage of the buzz of the launch, the TechDroider channel decided to put the brand new Galaxy S23 Ultra in a battery test against major rivals. In an “exhaustion” test, Samsung’s top of the line was placed head-to-head against iPhone 14 Pro Max, Xiaomi 13 Pro, OnePlus 11, Google Pixel 7 Pro and, for comparison purposes, Galaxy S22 Ultra. Despite being in English, the results obtained by Vaibhav Jain are quite clear. With a model-specific Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, the S23 Ultra had superior autonomy to Xiaomi, OnePlus and Google devices – in addition to surpassing its previous generation.
With a brand of 11 hours and 15 minutes screen turned on in the channel’s tests, Samsung’s new device was only behind the Apple model that features the A16 Bionic chipset. With a minimal advantage, the iPhone 14 Pro Max reached the mark of 11 hours and 25 minutes of screen on; just 10 minutes longer than the Samsung model.
Pixel 7 Pro, Galaxy S22 Ultra, OnePlus 11 and Xiaomi 13 Pro reached, respectively, the mark of 8hrs and 50 min, 9hrs and 43 min, 10hrs and 16 min and 10hrs and 26 min.
