nintendo confirms the closing date of the 3ds and wii eshops

Last year Nintendo announced that it would end up closing the digital stores for both Wii U and 3DS. We now have that date confirmed: March 27, 2023 in the West and March 28 in Japan.

Nintendo Service Termination Update #eShop for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS family systems:

– Funds cannot be added after 08-29-2022.

– No purchases can be made after 03-27-2023.

Nintendo’s official statement clearly explains the closures and their dates.
As of March 27, 2023, we will no longer be able to continue shopping in the respective stores, but we will be able to download games and DLCs, in addition to playing online.
And also, from August 29, 2022 it will no longer be possible to use an eShop Card to add funds to our portfolio.

What will happen to those games, DLCs and programs that are associated with my account from March 2023?
Nintendo knows how bad this news has felt and ensures that we will be able to download the content that we had in our library and even updates to our titles in the long term -we will see how long…-

“From March 2023 onwards, it will still be possible to re-download games and downloadable content, receive software updates, and enjoy online play on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS systems.”

Nintendo has recalled, finally, that the sale of Fire Emblem Fates It will end on February 28, 2023, one month before the closing of the eShop, although the expansions can be purchased until the total closure.

In less than a year we will experience the closure of these stores, “This is part of the natural lifecycle of any product line, as consumers use less of it over time. And Switch is that new generation. And you, what game do you recommend before closing?
