Small news for Netflix, but this time we are not talking about new subscription plans, programming changes, series cancellations or other news of this kind, but about something simpler. A new update has been released in these hours for the iOS application and brings with it a breath of minor but very pleasant news if we look at the general usability.

Reading the changelog, version 15.4.0 might seem like a simple bug fix and generic performance improvement update, however looking at the indications of other markets we find that the update improves usability and appearance. How? Here are some of the changes included.

The new promo tab layout responds with parallax effect as we move the devicealso introducing a subtle lighting effect, and then there are new animations and transitions that render the viewing experience much more captivating. One of the designers, Janum Trivedi, also spoke about it, who wanted to share a video of the new UI in progress on Twitter.

Everything feels much more fluid and coherent, and now when we select a movie or show, the cover will expand to show all the details about it. The “Coming Soon” tab has also been redesigned and is now called “What’s New” so that it also shows the content recommended for you.

It also seems that similar news could also arrive very soon for the tvOS version, which until today has been kept somewhat in stand-by in terms of interface improvements. We don’t know if the news on tvOS will follow those we are experiencing in the mobile sector, but it is still excellent news for owners of the set-top box produced by Apple.

The update is already available in the App Store for download, but as always you can search for it manually to be able to experience the news when you first. But before leaving you and since we’re talking about Netflix, have you read the news arriving in February 2023 yet?
