Mac Studio it could go a different route than the one taken by the Mac mini. In other words, it is not at all obvious that there is an M2 version that replaces the current ones equipped with M1 Max and M1 Ultra chips. So it seems possible that we will never see a Mac Studio M2 Pro, nor one M2 Max.
The reason is easy to tell, at least according to the opinion of some expert market analysts: Apple – they say – is engaged in the development of a Mac Pro M2and this project – ambitious and decidedly promising – would have had an impact on the works dedicated to the next generation Mac Studio based on M2 Ultra chipspostponing or even canceling its production.
The speech is that then Apple would find itself in its portfolio two “similar” productsboth with M2 Ultra and potentially competitors between them. It is therefore possible that in Cupertino they have opted to continue the work on the Mac Pro, giving up the other project. Meanwhile Mac Pro with Apple Silicon should already have been on the market, but some problems along the production chain have postponed its debut: the initial project included two variants, one with M2 Ultra, the other with M2 Extreme (with 2 M2 Ultra) , now it seems that only the first could arrive.
