Remember last month’s case of that Apple TV user complaining about unable to accept the new iCloud terms and conditions, owning neither an iPhone nor an iPad? Almost a month after the tweet that made the story go viral, which seemed to require the purchase of an iOS / iPadOS device in order to remove the annoying warning, Apple has stepped in by updating iCloud guidelines, going to specify that the procedure can also be performed from the web. Let’s see how.

HOW TO ACCEPT THE NEW ICLOUD T&C FROM THE WEB

The new support page – which you can find in Fonte – exactly covers the case of the user in question, i.e. that of a person who exclusively has an Apple TV and does not have other devices such as iPhones and iPads in order to be able to follow the instructions given in the notice to the letter, from which the existence of a third way to remedy the problem.

However, it seems that this solution already exists and is extremely simple, as it is divided into 3 simple steps:

  1. Go up iCloud.com and sign in with your own Apple ID
  2. If necessary, update your account settings by following the instructions that appear on the screen
  3. Read and accept the iCloud Terms and Conditions

The notice in question did not in any way mention the possibility of intervening via the website

That’s all, it is therefore a question of carrying out an extremely simple procedure, which however is not explained in any way within the notice that appears on the Apple TV interface. We are therefore faced with theyet another case of carelessness by the house of Cupertinowhich could have avoid the affair altogether by paying close attention to foresee all the possible cases to be taken into consideration, even the one in which the owner of an Apple TV does not have another Apple device with him.

Then there is yet another method that actually allows you to accept the new terms and conditions from Apple TV as well. The procedure was revealed by the same user who made the story go viral (among other things it is a Google employee) and consists ofLog out of your Apple account on Apple TV, and then log back in. In this way the T&C acceptance screen is proposed without having to resort to the web or other devices.

Let’s hope that Apple will simplify the procedure ea place a sufficiently clear notice with one of the upcoming tvOS minor updates.
