Apple releases iOS and iPadOS 16.3.1, tvOS 16.3.1, watchOS 9.3.1 and macOS 13.2.1

Apple has released iOS and iPad 16.3.1, macOS Ventura 13.2.1, tvOS 16.3.2, watchOS 9.3.1 and HomePod 16.3.2. These versions arrive two weeks after the release of the previous ones and without any beta version. It is probable that these versions will be followed in the next few days by the first betas of iOS and iPadOS 16.4 and macOS Ventura 13.3.

HOW TO INSTALL THEM

All releases are available both via OTA (Over The Air) update from Software Update in Settings – General on iPhone and iPad, and via Finder on Mac and iTunes on PC. For installation you must be connected to the Wi-Fi network and have at least 50% battery life, otherwise just be connected to the charger during the update provided that you have at least 20% battery remaining. On both iPhone and iPad with 5G data connectivity, it is also possible to download the firmware via the cellular network after activating the Allow more data on 5G network function in Settings – Cellular – Cellular data options – Data consumption (on iPhone).

macOS Ventura 13.2.1 can be downloaded and installed from the Software Update menu of System Settings – General. Similar speech for tvOS 16.2.1. Updating to watchOS 9.2.1 for Apple Watch, on the other hand, requires connection to the charger and at least 50% battery life. To proceed, open the Watch app from the iPhone and go to Software Update in the General section.

THE NEWS’

iOS and iPad 16.3.1 and macOS Ventura 13.2.1 are mostly focused on fixing bugs present in previous versions and in the general optimization of the system. No new features are added.

iOS 16.3.1, according to what is reported in the changelog, fixes a problem that occurred with apps that use iCloud for which iCloud settings could become unresponsive or incorrect. Also fixed an issue where requests for Find My via Siri could not work and incident detection was optimized on iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models. For macOS Ventura 13.2.1 the changelog only mentions “important bug fixes”.

Finally, regarding HomePod 16.3.2, the changelog reports the resolution of a problem with requests made to Siri, which could not be activated, as well as general improvements in performance and stability.
