Galaxy Z Fold4 design vs. Z Fold3

  • Galaxy Z Fold3: 158.2 × 128.1 × 6.4mm (unfolded), 158.2 × 67.1 × 14.4-16mm (folded), 271g

The design of the Galaxy Z Fold has remained practically the same since its launch, with some small changes.

The Galaxy Z Fold4 now offers an outer screen with a slightly wider aspect ratio to improve the user experience, since until now it had a fairly long ratio.

The outer screen is 2.7mm wider, while the overall width of the phone has not increased, thanks to the reduction of the frames and the size of the hinge. The overall height of the phone (not the screen) has been reduced by 3.1mm. As for the weight, it has decreased by 8 grams to 263 grams.

When unfolding the Galaxy Z Fold4, we find a 7.6″ screen with narrower frames and a ratio that, again, is also wider as the screen itself is 3mm wider.

The camera under the screen It’s also been enhanced with a new pixel arrangement on the camera lens that makes it more invisible. What we do not know is whether this new layout also improves image quality, which in this type of screen always suffers from less light capture.

The resistance has also been improved. In the Galaxy ZFold3, the surface glass and outer screen are protected by Gorilla Glass Victus, while the outer chamber window is protected by Gorilla Glass DX. With the Galaxy ZFold4, Both the outer screen and the surface glass are protected by Gorilla Glass Victus+.

In both cases, they have IPX8 protection, so it resists up to 30 minutes submerged at 1.5 meters, although Samsung does not recommend submerging it in the pool, much less in seawater.
