We use WhatsApp daily to communicate with many people: family, friends, work or university colleagues, in addition to the occasional spam. You probably have countless conversations or chats open on your WhatsAppincluding groups you haven’t participated in for months or years (and we’re all guilty of this), and for this reason it’s necessary to be creative to always have access to the messages and chats that really matter.

For example, you may use the “pin chat” tool to always leave those chats that matter most to you and those you talk to the most at the top of all conversations. Or maybe, if you’re like me, you usually mark conversations as “unread messages” so that the notification in the chat reminds you that you have an important message to reply to. These methods may work, but it would be even better to have a way to classify and separate the most important chats. Fortunately, WhatsApp is already working on it.

Favorite chats will come to WhatsApp to separate the chats and groups that matter most

A recent beta version of WhatsApp for iOS has revealed that those responsible for the instant messaging platform are working on this new function. The idea is simple: allow the platform’s more than 2 billion users to be able to access as quickly as possible the contacts that interest you mostavoiding the noise of the rest of the chat windows.

The novelty has been discovered by WaBetaInfo, revealing that it is, at least so far, aimed at the calling section of the app on iOS. In this way, when you go to the WhatsApp calls tab you will find a new section at the top, in which the contacts that the user marks as favorites are organized.

However, in WaBetaInfo They have also found a new contacts and favorite groups section on WhatsApp for the web. This time, the application adds a new “Favorites” tab in the chat window, which would be divided as follows: All chats, chats with unread messages, favorites and tags. The following message appears on the screen:

“Introducing the new “Favorites” section. Add the people you care about most so you can easily find them in the app.”

Taking into account that the web version of WhatsApp shows the favorites section between chats and not only in the calls section, it is not risky to assume that the mobile application will also have the same feature in the future.

Of course, this is a function that is still in development, so favorite chats are not yet available to all users on mobile devices or in the web or desktop version of WhatsApp. We will have to wait to be able to take advantage of this new feature.
